Essential Objectives
What are Essential Objectives?
Each school district in the state of Nebraska must determine what is most important for students to learn at each grade level. Standards are the content that students should know or be able to do. Bellevue Public Schools has determined standards for every core subject area at each grade level. Essential Objectives are Bellevue's academic learning standards which have been approved by the Nebraska Department of Education as exceeding the state standards.

Performance Level Description
Advanced ~ The objective has been mastered. The student completely understands this skill.
Proficient ~ The objective has been mastered.
Progressing ~The objective was not mastered. The student demonstrates partial understanding of the basic concepts and skills and will continue working on this skill and retake the assessment at
another time.
Beginning ~ The objective was not mastered. The student demonstrates minimal understanding of concepts and skills. He/she will continue working on the skill and take the assessment when he/she is better prepared.
